Feel better about what you do this year…. no matter what you do!

One of my favorite productivity sites is 43folders.com, to which you can find articles ranging from how to organize your receipts to how to keep your inbox under control, all around the notion of maximum productivity. Well a few days ago there was a post on the site that went completely against the grain and asked many great questions about why in the hell we are all so pressured to do so damn much, be so freaking productive, etc. and it really made me think…. more than that it helped me to have a good day, and I am convinced will help me have a better year. If you want to have a better year, like yourself more, and generally be a happier person then I think this post is worth 10 minutes of your time.

  1. That’s too funny - someone sent this to me last week. I, too, LOVED the list that you’ve included under “Reflect On”. Especially: perfect is the enemy of good.

You know, I look at certain people’s blog success (or business success) and think, “That should be me.” I freak myself out for about half a day wondering if I should be doing more/better/something to get me to where “they” are. Then I regain perspective (usually through a kind reader who likes what I’ve had to say) and think, “If I only touch one person’s life today, it’s worth it. I don’t need 30,000 subscribers or mass amounts of fame. What I’m doing feels good to me, and that’s what counts.” Tough to remember that, though, in this “get rich quick,” fame-crazed world. As long as what I do holds meaning for me, I think I’ll be just fine.
