8 reasons to drive a recycled (used) car

- No or low monthly payments - The best option is purchase a car with cash and not have any payments. However, if you feel that you need to drive a really “new” looking car then just look at models that are a few years old. New cars are the worst investments possible as the depreciate so quickly, but if you are buying recycled (used) this is good news for you as you can get a lot more for your money.
- Great parking spaces - A recycled car will most likely already have the first, or possible 100th door ding so you can park anywhere without fear.
- Actually use it for FUN - Is it any surprise that people would be a little worried about taking their new $30K+ SUV off-road where it could get dinged and damaged? When people buy fancy new SUVs they have visions of being athletic and outdoorsy however it is hard to be Johnny Lumberjack and be worried about eating in the car or scraping your shinny new rims. Old recyled SUVs are a blast for going off-road or just blazing over speed bumps and driving over curbs.
- No Commitments- I have had a new car and I have had many used cars. I have sold all the used cars in less combined time then it took me to sell my one newer car. This makes sense as the used cars were much cheaper and thus have a much larger buying pool. If you drive recycled cars you can get a new one every 6 months if you so desire, and potential make money in the process (see step 8).
- Lower insurance premiums and maintenance cost - Loose the comprehensive coverage and pocket more cash for yourself. Often when buying a recycled car you can avoid expensive costs like replacing the timing belt, or possibly even the transmission as the previous owner already took care of these repairs.
- Stress free road trips - If you have a really cheap recycled car and it breaks down you can just walk away and rent a fancy rental car and worry about getting a different recycled car after the trip ( This actually happened to me once on a trip with my father and some friends and it made the trip into a much funner adventure ).
- Look cool, confident, practical, rugged, creative and individualistic. It is impossible to look cool driving a modern era Ford or Chevy family sedan, but an old Ford or Chevy from 30 years ago, now that a different story!
- Make money - $$ - if you buy cool recycled cars at a good deal and then just sell at market value when you are done with it, you can make some nice extra $$. This is especially true of sought after classic cars.

I have lived by this too, new cars are such a waste!
Great reasons to drive used cars!!!! I think you covered every single point needed to convince people to drive “recycled cars”. I hope they listen!!!!!!!
I believe i am referenced near the end as “some friends” Bravo and true, I remember pushing the Audi down 205 and standing on the bumper as we coasted down a exit ramp.
Add an old mbz diesel and you can refuel your recycled (used) car in the back of a Chinese restaurant.
