E.E. Cummings
It is true and we all know it but should it be that way? Is this just one more way that society controls us, or something more. I propose that it might be something more.
This morning I got up with great ambitions for the day. I started off with a shower but instead of getting dressed in my normal work attire I put on some PJs because today I worked from home due to a recent snow storm.
However, I quickly found myself watching tv show after tv show. Yes the shows were good and yes I wanted to watch them but I had greater visions for the day. I quickly realized what the problem was, and the discovery was not a new one. My day was quickly being shaped by my attire. To remedy this situation I decided to start my day over and get ready again but with work attire, which in my case is nothing fancy.
Well did anything change, did my productivity increase, did I get stuff done, did I get stuff started……
…..you know the answer, HELL YES.
I started by making some important phone calls that I had been putting off, followed by going through all of my email, getting some work done, and writing this blog post, and so on. So, in my case clothes may not make the man but they definitely make the day.
